A Solemn Warning from a Prophet of Old

Woe unto them who call evil, good, and good, evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Isa. 5:20.

King Solomon wrote these words in Ecclesiastes 1:9b…there is no new thing under the sun. And so it has been down through the ages, that as it was in biblical times, so it continues to the present hour. The enemies of God have not changed their tactics for countless millennia, as false prophets and corruptors of truth abound at every hand.

I marvel at the sea change we are witnessing in our beloved nation. Things that were once considered good and right are now vilified by those who consider themselves the elite of society. They know by virtue of their superior intellect, education, and wealth what is best for the rest of us, and consider it their duty to impose their standards of morality and conduct upon the rest of society. They couch their criticisms of the righteous, and those who stand for God’s moral law in ways that portray them as evil troublemakers that must be silenced.

God declares in Exodus 20:3, Thou shalt have no other gods before me, but the elite worship the gods of mammon and political power. In verse 16 God said, Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor, but they continually lie and seek to destroy those whom they see as standing in their way of implementing their so-called Progressive agenda. No better example can be found than the current weaponizing of the F.B.I. the I.R.S. and the Department of Justice to destroy duly elected governmental figures and impede the progress of 501 C3 charitable organizations fighting to conserve the founding principles of the nation. In the 15th verse of Exodus 20 God declares, Thou shalt not steal, but the elite continue to inflate the currency to unimaginable levels, thereby destroying the buying power of the dollar, robbing the American people of the fruits of their labors.

By far, the greatest example of calling evil good, and good evil is in the matter of the killing of the unborn. I can think of no more outrageous perversion of that which is morally wrong, into that which is twisted into something altruistic and humane. “Certainly’, they say, ‘no child should be brought into the world that is not wanted.” I would venture to estimate that perhaps a third or even half of the world’s current population is the result of an unplanned pregnancy. Thank God their mothers could not bring themselves to destroy that innocent little life. I assure you, that those who prey on women in a crisis pregnancy do so to their great financial advantage. I know for a fact that Planned Parenthood has a full time staff of money managers shepherding their vast investment portfolio.

But, in the midst of all this sin and corruption, there is hope. The Great God of Heaven, although holy, righteous and just, is also gracious, kind, and merciful to those who will humble themselves before Him. It is called The Gospel, which means Good News. He has provided a way to escape the punishment that awaits the unrepentant sinner. That way, and the only way, is through faith in God’s beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:6, …I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. I once heard a man say, “That before we can receive the good news, we must hear the bad news.” The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And in Romans 6:23 we read, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Friend, will you just now, admit that you have sinned against a holy God? Are you willing to
change your mind about sin, which the Bible calls repentance, realizing that sin has separated
you from this holy God. He has provided a way for you and I to escape His wrath by believing
that Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, and shed His precious blood that through His sacrifice
for our sins we might be saved. Who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree. I
Peter 2:24. God is waiting patiently for you to receive His Son Jesus by faith, casting away
anything in which you may have been trusting, which God calls filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6.

I personally trusted the Lord Jesus to forgive my sins close to 50 years ago, and oh how blessed those years have been. Trust Jesus today friend, you will never regret it.
