All They That Hate Me Love Death

Proverbs 8:36
Psalm 127:3 confirms that “… children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” Scripture repeatedly affirms the blessings and necessities of family, and the reasons children are significant in God’s purposes. Human life is sacred, as every person is made in the likeness and image of God. Clearly, God has provided the sciences for those in need of medical care, and governments for the protection and well-being of all people.
Traditionally, the Laws of the United States protected the lives of unborn children, and their rights as citizens were not seriously questioned earlier in our history. It was presumed, by and large, that unborn children of American parents would be included in the Declaration of Independence, “… that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness …
This God given “right to life” remained virtually a non-issue until the sexual revolution of the early 1960’s. This revolution, which was founded on rebellion against parents and authority, coupled with uninhibited sensuality, resulted in an increase in unwanted pregnancies, especially among unwed teenagers. The massive increase in immorality was the logical result of the Supreme Court’s decision to ban prayer on June 25, 1962, then ban the Bible on June 17, 1963, in public schools. Obviously, there was already a nefarious scheme in place that would result in a bloody business capable of bringing in millions of dollars.
In 1973 the United States Supreme Court decided that a woman’s right to abort her unborn child was protected under the 4th and 14th Amendments. These are key Amendments, but the Court twisted their intent by applying absurd arguments that had no legal precedent in the history of the Court.
Their decision resulted in “abortion on demand” and, since 1973, about 70,000,000 unborn children have been murdered by abortionists. As the abortion industry has grown, there are further evidences and verifications of very wicked and ghastly practices occurring with the bodies of aborted babies.
But the abortion industry has the militant protection of pro-abortion advocates in government, politics, the medical profession, media, entertainment, schools and – be assured – foreign governments. Proverbs 6:17 says, without any deceptive or perverted judiciary comment, God hates “… hands that shed innocent blood.” But here we are 49 years later – in a culture of death.
It fits the spirit and agenda of this increasingly godless age, as Proverbs 8:36 reads “… all that hate me love death.” This is a war against God! But how did Americans become so callous and desecrate themselves to the godless, barbaric acceptance of the murder of babies? In large part, because of the apostasy from God and His Word that is smothering the culture.
Secularism (the “state religion” of America) is committed to developing ethics, policies and principles solely from this fallen world, without acknowledgement or reference to God or His Word. This is the direct link to the most serious issues America is facing; this is the war of our world!
Secularists believe the moral basis for government is man’s depraved nature and distorted sense of right and wrong. They do not believe in God, so there is no fear of God, and there are no commandments from God. To the godless, there are no moral absolutes to govern ethics, behavior and consequences. Laws, decisions and ethical norms are formulated and based on atheism, pragmatism and relativism.
Since there is a denial of God, there is obviously a denial of the imago Dei in humanity; therefore, no sanctity of life! The Humanist Manifesto affirms that “Moral values derive their source from human experience. Ethics are autonomous and situational, and need no theological or ideological sanction.”
Society cannot maintain a righteous moral value when there is no just “standard of right and wrong” beyond human ethics and reasoning, as man becomes the measure. This has lead our nation to defend and advocate the practices of abortion, euthanasia, suicide, and total sexual license for consenting adults.
The apostasy of many churches accompany the war against the sanctity of life. People attend these so called churches, and trust their spiritual leaders. Yet many ministers are modernist and liberal in theology, ethics and politics. When they address issues of abortion, euthanasia, sexual ethics, social justice and other similar themes, the congregation accepts and supports their decadent views.
What do those attending modernist churches typically hear about abortion? Two examples:
- Rev. Debra Haffner prays, “Bless us as we seek to create a more just world where all people have the right to make their own private reproductive decisions and obtain safe, legal, and accessible abortion services. Amen.”
- Rev. Christine Gimbol confirms, “Clearly, giving a woman the right to abortion is a compassionate stand, and anytime compassion rules over judgment, we see the kingdom of God.”
Of course, there are thousands of similar statements made by apostate clergy. Many assure their followers, “If Jesus was here, He would be pro-choice.” They typically support every godless element of the secularism and liberalism addressed earlier, and are militant and implacable in their views.
They add much to the war on unborn babies and beyond to all pro-life and ethical issues that immerse our culture. In the process, they feed the violent flames of atheism and evil that will one day consume them, just as Proverbs 8:36 reveals. Clearly, these “ministers” are the enemies of biblical Christianity.
Keith Quinta of Intercessors for America wrote, “Is Jesus pro-choice? Does He support abortion as a means of discarding a newly formed life due to the selfish choice of unprotected sex? Would He march with a sign to protect a woman’s right to kill her baby right into the ninth month? Would He cheer the harvesting of baby organs and fetal tissue that are sold for experimentation?” Such “doctrines of devils,” 1 Tim. 4:1, is blasphemy and heresy. But it’s our world … “… all they that hate Me love death.”
Warren Wiersbe wrote, “The humanist sings, ‘Glory to man in the highest.’ And sometimes it looks as if man is prevailing and God is a failure … But Psalm 9:17 tells us that man is not going to prevail, for ‘The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.’ Today it looks as though man is succeeding – truth forever on the scaffold, wrong forever on the throne. But David prayed, ‘Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.’ Ps. 9:19-20.”
We must answer the call of God faithfully and fearlessly. We must pray, stand for the helpless, defend God’s truth and support those committed to the Judeo-Christian worldview.
