Our Purpose

Andrew BuhrowIII John, verse 4 says “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” As Nancy and I were having devotions the other day we were reading III John. As we read that book our minds and hearts were drawn to that particular verse and the blessing and joy our children have been to us. I have a tendency to puff up with pride to see how well they are doing (for the most part). It reminds me of how the Lord enjoys seeing His children living according to the way He has designed them to live. I am also reminded that He always loves us unconditionally whether we are doing what’s right or wrong, just as we love our own children that way. Because of that, it should be our desire to live in truth every day.

We all have moved into this month living in a way we have never lived before. The call for social distancing has suspended all gatherings for sports, music, entertainment, and even church services. That will not only be strange for some, but be devastating for others. There was a time when people didn’t have money for entertainment and amused themselves by doing things for free. Now we are at a place where there is little entertainment available to spend money on. Perhaps our elected officials are preparing us for a future when people again won’t have money for things like entertainment

Unlike a lot of people that wonder why God would allow bad things to happen to them when they have been striving to lead exemplary lives, I marvel that God has been so good to me after the way I have lived. Whenever I was called to the principal’s office when I was in school, I wasn’t asking my-self “why”, but what I got caught at. Any difficulty I encounter will never be more than I deserve. It is sad that some governors of some states like ours have declared that abortions are necessary to keep available. I believe we can expect God’s judgement on our nation because of the legalizing of murder-ing of the most innocent and whatever that judgement is, it will be less than this country deserves.

Pray that our country can get back to some type of normal soon so that I can get back to presenting this ministry in our churches. People need to be aware of what is going on with this important issue.

Your servant for the innocent,

Andrew K. Buhrow—Executive Director—Baptists for Life of Wisconsin
