Psalms 127:3= “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Fifty-six years ago my wife and I were married. Even though we were young and I was very immature, we planned on having children right away. We kind of felt that having children was a sign of God blessing our marriage. We never felt it was important that we have some time just for us.
Sadly, couples today, in many instances, have chosen to focus on themselves and their happiness even to the point that they want to wait awhile to have children, and when a child is conceived they are willing to murder that child rather than taking responsibility to raise it. There are many things that I have done in my life that I wish I could change and many things I regret doing. Having children, adopting children, caring for foster children, and taking care of my parents until God took them home are experiences I will rejoice over as long as I live.
I am writing this prayer letter during our chilly weather at the end of January. This morning it was –35˚ here in Sparta. I am so thankful for the home the Lord has blessed us with. I trust you too have been able to stay warm.
I want to thank all those who were able to go to Madison for the pro-life rally that was held at the Capital on January 22nd. It’s obvious that the devil is the “prince of the power of the air” and the “god of this world” as he really worked at having weather conditions not conducive to travel. Most of the board members of BFLW did make it and I thank them for the effort.
Our annual business meeting for BFLW is set for March 16th at Waunakee Baptist Church at 10:00 AM. We want to invite you to come and be a part of what we are doing in the State of Wisconsin. Because we did not have any new people nominated to the board this year and because all those up for reelection were willing to continue serving, we will be voting to declaring them elected for another 2 year term.
Our next special event for BFLW will be our rally at Faith Baptist Church in Oak Creek on April 13th at 1:00 PM. Dr. John Wilkerson of First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana will be our main speaker with Julaine Appling bringing an update and the Faithmen quartet bringing special music. We are asking churches to consider taking an offering to send to the rally even if they can’t make it. Once again they want to try to bury me in diapers, so they are asking everyone to bring a package of them to the rally.
I have a few dates still open for the Summer and the Fall if you would like me to present this ministry in your church. You can contact me at 608-269-3352 or at 608-780-4576. I also would encourage you to have your high school students get involved in our essay and video contests. The deadline is May 1st this year.
“New Focus Pregnancy Center” of Watertown is in it’s infant stages with meetings set with clients at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday nights. Pray for them as they develop the ministry and build a clientele. Also, continue to pray for the ministry that is being planned for Eagle River. Nothing new to report there at the present time.
Thanks for all your prayer and financial support for this important ministry.
Your servant for LIFE,
Andrew K. Buhrow—Executive Director– Baptists for Life of Wisconsin
