February 2020 Prayer Letter

Psalms 127; 3 = “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” The word translated “heritage” is from the Hebrew word “nachalah” and is often translated “inheritance”, or even more properly “a heirloom”. In other words, God gives children to parents as His gift to carry on His image to another generation. What an awesome privilege but also, what an awesome responsibility. To destroy that heirloom from God has to be one of the most disappointing and demoralizing things a person can do. Let’s be as appreciating and grateful as we ought to be for what the Lord has given us.
January was a busy month for us as we had churches scheduled for every Sunday and 3 of the 5 pregnancy centers held their annual board meetings during the month. It was a blessing to be in the churches and we rejoice to hear how the Lord is blessing each of our centers. It was also refreshing to me to hear our President speak at the women’s “March for Life” and his expressing his “pro-Life” position. While I was at First Baptist Church of Oak Creek, Pastor Brown emphasized the importance of voting “Biblically” in the upcoming election. We need to vote for those who are standing where the Bible stands on the important issues especially in the area of life and abortion.
Our new essay contest starts this month with our theme “The Potential of a Life.” I know it’s early, but I would encourage high school students to be thinking about this topic. My message to the churches will be on that theme this year.
April 18th is the date for our next rally and Dr. Les Ollila will be our main speaker. It will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown at 1:00 PM. Flyers will be coming to all the churches. We would encourage churches that may not be able to attend to consider taking up an offering for BFLW and sending it to this ministry.
Our annual election of board members will be held this month via mail and half of our board is up for election. Be in prayer that God’s will will be done. Also, be praying as our annual Baptist for Life of Wisconsin meeting will be held March 14th at Waunakee Baptist Church in Waunakee. I would like to invite as many of you as possible. It will be an encouragement to know who is on board and supporting this important ministry.
May the Lord bless your part in this important ministry, and I appreciate all your prayers for us.
Yours for the unborn,
Andrew K. Buhrow—Executive Director—Baptists for Life of Wisconsin
