Hope in the Lord

It is hard to imagine that December is upon us. Time goes by so rapidly.

Of course we all look forward to December as we celebrate the birth of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the mercy, love and grace of God Who sent His Son, the ‘Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.’

Praise the Lord. For those who are trusting in the finished work of the Cross, this wonderful ‘bed-rock’ truth is a source of stability and joy in a day and world of uncertainty, turmoil and darkness.

I am thankful that the elections are over. From a conservative perspective the outcome was very positive. But I am reminded that our hope is in the Lord. (Psalm 20:7) “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”

As we rest in Him may we recognize His control in all matters and grasp the opportunity for moving forward in the on-going cause “for life”. We must not lose sight of the fact of the staggering numbers of babies who are being ‘aborted’ daily in our land. The blood of those children still cries out for help. We must not allow the noise and sin of politics and government to drown out the reality of the horror of the scalpel. No. Now is the time to ‘make our votes count’ and let newly elected officials know that the people of God are ready and willing to take a stand for the truth of the Word of God. (Romans 13:11, 12) “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Please join in with Baptists for Life of Wisconsin in the daily endeavors to give a voice to the unborn.

May God bless each of you as we rejoice in the birth of Christ Who came to ‘save His people from their sins.
