January 2020 Prayer Letter

Ecclesiastes 3:1 = “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” The word “time” actually refers to a period of existence. In other words, “an occasion where something might happen.” The year 2020 is a leap year so that means the year will have an extra 24 hours of “time” for things to happen. We are reminded in Psalms 31:15 that “ My times are in thy hand” reminding us that God is in control of all that has to do with us and we should be totally aware of this as we go about living our lives. Let’s make sure we focus on using the “time” God gives us in 2020 on purposes and projects that exalt the Lord, edify the saints, and evangelize the lost.
We are thankful for the way the Lord blessed this ministry in the past year and are excited about what He has for us in 2020. Nancy and I had a blessed and busy time over Christmas and New Years. We hosted the “Buhrow” family Christmas gathering with 51 of our family and friends on the Saturday before Christmas and then on the 23rd we went on a trip with our oldest daughter, Robin and her husband, Dave that lasted until January 1st. We traveled to Green Bay, then up through the upper peninsula of Michigan down to Midland Michigan, then to Knoxville, Tennessee, then on to Pine Grove, Kentucky, and then back home. Dave and Robin have 3 daughters living in those 3 places and we were able to spend time with them and 7 of our great grandchildren, and 4 unofficially adopted ones.
My schedule is now full until the first Sunday in June, and Nancy and I are looking forward to being with the many friends we have met along the way. Our essay contest ends at the end of this month, so I would encourage high School students to get their essays done and forwarded to me.
Our annual election of board members for Baptists for Life of Wisconsin is coming up. You should be getting an election ballot soon. Half of our board members are up for election each year. Please take the time to vote. (Remember that also this Fall when the National and local elections take place)
Our next big event will be our pro-life rally that will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, Wisconsin on April 18th at 1PM. Dr Les Ollila will be our main speaker. There will be flyers sent to all the churches for this. We are again asking churches to consider taking up an offering for BFLW ahead of time and sending it even if they are unable to attend. The Lord has blessed this ministry but there is so much more we could do if we had more resources.
Thank you for all your prayers for this important ministry and for standing with us as we speak for those that aren’t able to speak for themselves.
Yours for the unborn,
Andrew K. Buhrow—Executive Director—Baptists for Life of Wisconsin
