January 2021 Prayer Letter

Psalms 37:4 = “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” In recent years I have adopted this verse as the basis for my life. The “also” of this verse is referring to “trusting the Lord” of verse 3. Basically, if our focus is on trusting the Lord and delighting in Him He will give us the desires of our heart. In recent years that has become a reality for me in so many ways. As my life is winding down and my time on this earth is drawing to a close, I find myself trusting and delighting in the Lord’s bountiful blessings on me. I don’t know all 2021 holds for me, but I do know that the Lord is in control of it and He is going to orchestrate everything for my good and His glory. I trust the Lord has gotten you through the holidays in one piece and you are now ready to take on all the challenges 2021 has to offer. I suspect that our pro-life ministry will be facing some real opposition and we need to be prepared to stand for the unborn as never before. Please be in prayer that God’s people will rise to the challenge.
We have one church that has taken on the challenge of starting an “AIM” program in their church. This is having a pregnancy resource program running out of a local church. “AIM” stands for “Assistance In Mothering”. They have shared with me that the Lord has already been blessing their work and they have some clients they are working with. This is much more cost effective in smaller communities because they don’t have to rent a separate building and pay for the utilities. It would be my dream to see several of these up and running during my time as director of BFLW.
Our Essay contest for high school students is winding down with the deadline being January 31st. Encourage your young people to get involved. The theme for this year is “The Potential of a Life”. Details can be found on our website.
I have flyers ready to be mailed out for our “Sanctity of Life” Sunday. If you are planning to take up an offering for Baptists for Life of Wisconsin, we would like to send them to you. Just let me know how many you need and we will get them to you. You can email me or call 608-780-4576. I will be bringing them with me when I speak in churches this year. They explain how my family got involved in adoption. I believe it will bless your heart.
Yours for His Service,
Andrew K. Buhrow—Executive Director—Baptists for Life of Wisconsin
