January 2022 Prayer Letter

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
Daniel 1:8
Daniel had been taken captive, along with other young men, and he had been se-lected to be given special treatment to be educated and trained in the way of the Bab-ylonians. This included being fed the special food that the king himself ate. Some of their food was food that God had instructed the Israelites not to eat. Daniel had deter-mined that he would honor what God had instructed even though he was in a strange land and a captive. The Scriptures tell us that Daniel “purposed in his heart” which means he had “made up his mind, and determined to stick to it.”
We, as Christians, realize every day that, because of the way this world is going, we are living more and more in a strange land. We are being pressured more and more to conform to the actions and mentality of the majority even when it dictates that we are to do things contrary to what the Bible says. As we enter this new year we need to take some time to step back, evaluate what is going on, seek what God would have us do, and set some boundaries that we believe God would have us set.
I do have bulletin inserts for this year. If you are planning on taking up an offer-ing for Baptists for Life of Wisconsin in January (Sanctity of Life Sunday is January 23rd) let us know how many you could use and I will send them out.
January 31st is the deadline for our pro-life essay contest for high school students.
Please send them by mail BFLW 18132 Iceland Rd., Sparta, WI 54656 or by email info@bflw.org.
We are excited about our plans for 2022. We will be having two pro-life rallies; one on April 23rd at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, and one on April 30th at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie. We also are planning to have a summit for all present and potential pregnancy center workers. We plan to have one or two workshops focusing on starting a pregnancy center in your church (our AIM pro-gram).
Thank you for all your prayers and support of this important ministry.
