Psalms 37:4 = “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” In all the years I served the Lord as a pastor I never really had a “Life Verse”. When I became director of Baptists for Life of Wisconsin this verse seemed to jump out at me. In Psalms 100:2 we are reminded to “serve the Lord with gladness: (and) come before His presence with singing.” According to these two verses we not only should be serving the Lord, but we should really enjoy doing it. It always concerns me when Christians talk of their ministry as a burden and a sacrifice. We sometimes forget that we have the opportunity to be a part of God’s program in guiding the plan of God for our entire world. He is not limited to our obedience to Him, but He choses to allow us to be a part of His plan. We ought to enjoy seeing God use us and we should delight to have a part in His program.
This will definitely be the last year that I will serve as director of Baptists for Life of Wisconsin. I am looking forward to enjoying this year as much as I have enjoyed the last eleven and a half. The overturning of Roe-V-Wade has really opened up a new challenge for those of us that are pro-life. The law passed in Wisconsin in 1849 making abortion illegal in every case except when the life of the mother is at stake became the standard once again in Wisconsin. Now we have people in places of authority who are working hard to get our law overturned. We need many people praying and also speaking out and standing up for all those babies that can’t stand up or speak for themselves. Can the Lord count on you to be a voice for Him?
Our essay contest winds down at the end of this month. Please encourage your high school students to get their essay in by January 31st. To be eligible for the prizes of $400, $200, and $100.
Continue to be in prayer that the Lord will show us who the next director of BFLW should be. I believe there is much that could be done through this ministry in the coming years with the right man leading it.
Thank you for all your prayers and support of this important ministry.
