Psalms 107:8 = “Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men.” We do not know the human author (God being the actual author) and it was likely written in the post-exile period of Israel’s history. This verse is repeated 3 more times in this Psalm ( verses 15, 21, and 31) the emphasis being on praising the Lord for all He’s done instead of constantly asking for things.

If we are honest we will have to admit that our prayers often sound like shopping lists of things we want God to do. They center around physical, financial, and wisdom needs that we are facing. Often, when needs are met we just cross them off and add others. We tend to be like the little boy that was asked “Do you pray every day?” He answered, “No, some days I don’t need anything.”

I remember one Wednesday night just before Thanksgiving I challenged my people at prayer meeting to only focus on what God has done for you and spend the whole time just thanking Him and praising Him for what He has already done. This was actually quite awkward for some of us. It’s like the song that challenged us that when we can’t sleep that we should count our blessing instead of sheep. I trust you will consider that.

Next month (August 17th) is the date for our next summit for all present and prospective pregnancy center workers. It will be from 9:00 AM—5:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown. Please let us know if you are planning to come. There is no charge, but we need to know how many to plan for.

I am still enjoying serving the Lord in this ministry. I have my schedule pretty well set for this year with one date in September still open. If you are interested in having me present the ministry in your church let me know.

Continue to pray that the Lord will show the board of BFLW who He would have take over this ministry next year. I still believe this ministry is relevant and necessary in this present day.

May the Lord bless you as you labor for Him. Thank you for all your prayers and support for this important ministry.

In Christ,
