Ecclesiastes 12:13 = “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” What does it mean to fear God? When I was growing up I feared my dad. Not because he was mean or that he would hurt me, but because disobeying him could bring consequences that I didn’t want to face. He had control over my life (in a good way) so that it was better for me that I did what he said.

In the same way God has control over everything that that has to do with my life. He has the ability to bless me or to make my life miserable. He has reminded me in His word that He has the ability to make sure everything works together for good for me (Romans 8:28) and He has promised me that “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. (Gal. 6:7) I also know that “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God”. (Hebrews 10:31)

I know that God loves me and has my best interests at heart. I pray daily that I will seek to live in such a way that He doesn’t have to use some extreme measures to get my attention or to get me back on the right track.

Summer is here and many are taking well-earned vacations. Please don’t let yourself take a vacation from serving the Lord. Stay faithful to your church and the ministries it is involved with. In the area of pro-life issues there is much that can be done this Summer. Many of our centers are having fund raisers. Perhaps you could volunteer at a center, or go to an abortion clinic and hand out tracts or spend time praying. Be aware of pro-life legislation being dealt with in Madison and let your Senator and Assemblymen know where you stand. Get involved in the election process by learning where the candidates stand on pro-family and pro-life issues. You might even get involved with helping candidates get elected. If we as Christians don’t speak out and step up, we may find ourselves losing many of the freedoms we have enjoyed since this Country was founded.

Our next special event for Baptists for Life of Wisconsin is the Summit we will host August 17th at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, Wisconsin. This is for all present and prospective pregnancy center workers or for anyone interested in this ministry. There is no cost, but we do need a count so we know how many to plan for. You can email me at info@bflw.org or call me at 608-780-4576.

Thank you for all your prayers and support for this important ministry.

In Christ,

Andrew K. Buhrow
