May 2025 Prayer Letter

Psalm 23:1a =“The Lord is my Shepherd”. For thousands of years after David penned these words, people would have understood what sheep and shepherds were. Most people lived in a pastoral setting being familiar with how sheep and shepherds functioned. Today that is not the case. Many people live their whole lives now without ever personally coming in contact with either. If a preacher is using as his text this portion he will need to explain what sheep are like, why God refers to people as being like sheep, and what a shepherd is and does. Recently, speaking in a service at my local church, I spent an entire message just explaining this introductory statement.
In Bible times, as today, sheep don’t get to chose who their shepherd is. If the sheep are owned by a lazy or cruel shepherd, they will have a miserable existence. On the other hand, if sheep have the good fortune to be owned by a good shepherd, their life will be much more enjoyable and pleasant. According to this verse in Psalm 23, we get to decide who will be our shepherd. There are really only two choices: either we will chose God to be our shepherd or we will chose someone or something that isn’t God to direct us. The bottom line is everything that is not God is orchestrated by Satan himself. We need to be reminded often that the Lord has our best interests at heart and is preparing us for an eternity with Him, whereas Satan’s goal is to destroy us and get us to end up in hell with him. Are you allowing the Lord to be your shepherd???
Our two rallies are over. Brother Randy King did an amazing job of preaching at both rallies and we were able to raise over $7,500 that we will use to help our pregnancy centers in the local ministries. Thank you to all who had a part in the rallies.
We have now recorded my power point presentation complete with narration for any church that would like to use it as a SS lesson or for a pro-life Sunday presentation in your church. Let me know if that might be a possibility.
Please continue to pray for a director for Baptists for Life of Wisconsin. I am continuing to serve in that capacity, but we really need to have someone younger to carry this ministry to the next level. I believe this ministry is special to God’s heart. I have been so blessed to be able to serve the Lord in this way and I know whoever He raises up to lead this ministry will be blessed as well.
Thank you for all your prayers and support of this important ministry.
In Christ,
Andrew K. Buhrow
