November 2024 Prayer Letter

Prayer Letters

Psalms 19: 1 =“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.” It is always a special blessing for Nancy and me to travel during the month of October as the leaves turn color. Some times the beauty is just breathtaking to us. We realize that the beauty is a result of the leaves dying and losing their usefulness. Now, in November people will be busy cleaning up the leaves and either burning them or putting them in piles to be reduced to compost.

This certainly is a picture of the life cycle we, as humans go through as well. I’m not saying we look our best or prettiest just before we die, but certainly a life well lived has a special glow to it and can look quite beautiful to those we leave behind.

Nancy and I have enjoyed 62 years together and there have been far more beautiful days than the other kind. However, for me especially, these last 12 years as director of Baptists for Life of Wisconsin have been some of the best by far. Much of the reason for that have been the people we have met and ministered to. My cousin George once told me why he wanted to go to Australia and live there for a couple of years. He said “some day we are going to get old, and we are going to be sitting on our back porch reminiscing either about what we thought about doing, or about what we did. I want to do some things that I can look back on with fond memories.”

Nancy and I have a lifetime of memories of things we actually did. We are amazed and blessed with all that God has led us through, and how He enabled us to accomplish so much.

Please be in prayer for this ministry. We do not have anyone in line to take over for me and we do not want to see the work die. I believe there are thousands of babies that need this ministry to help them survive. It doesn’t take someone that is super-smart, talented, or specially gifted to lead Baptists for Life of Wisconsin (I am living proof of that), but it does need someone who cares enough to leave their comfort zone and fight for those who can’t fight for themselves.

May I also encourage you to challenge any High School students you know to get involved in the essay contest. We really need to educate and encourage our young people to take a pro-life stand and speak out for the unborn. All the information for the contest can be found on our web site www.bflw.org/essays.

May the Lord bless you with a blessed and happy Thanksgiving with all your friends and family.

Thank you all for your prayers and support of this important ministry.

In Christ,

Andrew K. Buhrow
