October 2021 Prayer Letter

“But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved:) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:4-7
The other day I was reminiscing about God’s hand on my life and the grace and mercy He has bestowed on me. It was 50 years ago that I finally surrender my life to do what God wanted me to do. The first nine years of our marriage was filled with farming, foundry work, and failing at being the husband and father I should have been. My focus was on striving to accomplish what I thought would make me happy. In 1971 I headed back to Bible College to finished what I had started and then go into the ministry from there. It has not been an easy 50 years, but I would do it the same way again. I am grateful for the Lord’s patience with me (and my wife’s) for those first 9 years that it took for me to find myself and submit to what God wanted me to do. Next year Nancy and I will be celebrating 60 years together.
In September we had our quarterly board meeting for Baptists for Life of Wisconsin. We decided to have two pro-life rallies next year. On April 23rd Calvary Baptist Church of Watertown will host a rally and on April 30th Immanuel Baptist Church of Menomonie will host the 2nd one. Dr. Les Ollila has consented to be the speaker at both. More information will be forthcoming.
We did have a busy September going to 4 churches, attending a Baptist fellowship meeting, attending a fund raiser for one of our pregnancy centers, attending a layman’s retreat, and attending our BFLW board meeting. The month of October will be another busy one as well, and I look forward to everything we will be doing. My personal health is is a little more stable, but I still have some bad days. Hopefully, they won’t be on Sunday. Thanks for all your prayers.
I want to remind everyone again about our essay contest for high school students. The theme this year is “WHY PLANNED PARENTHOOD SHOULD BE DEFUNDED”. Please go to www.bflw.org/essays for the information and guidelines. Deadline is January 31st, 2022.
Thank you for all your prayers and support of this important ministry.
