Proverbs 3:9 & 1= “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine in-crease: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
I just finished filling out a donation letter to VCY America for their upcoming “Days of Praise” share-a-thon. Nancy and I listen to the station at home and on the road and wanted to support their work. It is amazing how many different causes seek to solicit our money, and as a Christian, with the Holy Spirit living in us, we tend to have a tender heart toward others and their needs. Sometimes it’s hard for us to say “No” to those needs. This is what I have determined to do. Christians are not the only ones with tender hearts. A lot of non-Christians give generously to all kinds of needs but usually only Christians give to causes that further the Gospel. Nancy and I seek to focus on supporting those who are actively involved in reaching people with the “Good News” of salvation through Jesus Christ, and let the unsaved help the others. Just a personal thought.
Though Nancy and I are busy with speaking in churches nearly every Sunday during the Summer and Nancy still works at the pregnancy center during the week, we do not have a lot of extras going on during the Summer relating to Baptists for Life of Wisconsin. That all changes in the Fall. Nancy and I plan to attend 2 Baptist fellowship meetings, a banquet for a center, and I will be going to a men’s retreat during the month of September. We actually look forward to the increased activity.
With the school year starting I would like to encourage you to encourage your high school students to consider writing an essay for our contest. This year’s theme is “The Option of Adoption” The dead-line is January 31st. You can get the guidelines from our web site WWW.BFLW.org.
I am working on putting together another summit for our pregnancy workers. I have notified each of the directors to give me input as to time of the year, topics to be addressed and speakers they would like to hear. Pray that it will all go well and that it will be a benefit to all who attend.
I do have my schedule pretty well set until the end of February, next year. If you are interested in having us come in 2020, please let us know. My phone number is on the letterhead.
Thank you for all your faithful prayer and financial support for this important ministry.
Yours for the unborn,
Andrew K. Buhrow—Executive Director—Baptists for Life of Wisconsin
