Jeremiah 17:9 = “The heart is deceitful above all things, and is desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Nancy and I enjoy watching some of the Hallmark and Up TV romantic movies. (I still need guidance on how to be romantic toward my wife) Often times the couples are challenged to “Follow their heart.”

Recently a friend of mine and I have started doing a Bible study using Jim Berg’s book “Changed In His Image”. The verse quoted above from the Bible reminds us that our heart is not a good source to adopt as our leader. We need to turn to the Bible for our guidance in what we should do.

Recently I have become more aware of the fact that some people are twisting the Scriptures to say something completely opposite of what we have known to be “Right” for many years. We hear preachers declare that God is in favor of abortion. That killing their babies is a loving thing to do. Be careful that your heart isn’t causing you to make decisions that would cause actions that are contrary to the true teachings of the Word of God. Follow God’s Word, not your heart.

Our summit we held for all our pregnancy workers at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown went very well and was a blessing to all those that attended. A special thanks to all that helped.

Our busy August will now be followed by a busy September. We have 4 churches scheduled for the month, three fund raisers for our centers to attend, a fellowship of churches annual meeting, a men’s retreat, and our quarterly BFLW board meeting. There are some plans we are considering that would help make our existing centers more helpful to their clients. Pray that the Lord will give us wisdom in how to proceed.

We want to encourage our high school students to consider entering our essay contest. Check our web site for instructions and guidelines.

Thank you for all your prayers and support of this important ministry.

In Christ,
